Album Art and Upload Access Denied

Postby AmazingLarry » Thu Apr 29, 2010 1:34 pm

I'm getting the following error when uploading files:
Uploading failed with the following error:
"\\10.0.0.240\storage\MP3\Incoming\untitled.bmp (Access is denied)"

And this error when downloading album art:
Failed to download image.
java.io.FileNotFoundException: \\10.0.0.240\storage\MP3\test folder\folder.jpg (Access is denied)

Build number: 1471

I'm trying to get more information from the logs, but I haven't seen anything. The user that is running the Subsonic service has full permissions to that folder and can manually create folders and files there.

Music folder: \\10.0.0.240\storage\MP3

Please help. Thanks.

More info: Win XP server with linux fileserver.

Update from a log file /var/log/samba/smbd.log:

[2010/05/03 10:22:27, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(1042)
subsonic (10.0.0.221) connect to service storage initially as user nobody (uid=99, gid=99) (pid 17145)

I'm wondering if this is Subsonic or Samba causing the problem. On the XP machine running Subsonic, subsonic-agent.exe is running as a user account that has access to the Samba share, but subsonic-service.exe is running as SYSTEM.

Any ideas?

Update:

Tried Ubuntu Subsonic install with same fileserver and same Samba account and everything is working. I'm thinking it's something with XP running subsonic_service.exe as SYSTEM but I'm really not sure.
