flac 1.2.1

Postby rwagter » Tue May 11, 2010 8:35 pm

Hi,

I had a great evening figuring out why my recently added flacs weren't playing but it seems they were build by the latest flac version which is unfortunately not in the transcode directory, I like a small puzzle. Could you update flax.exe in \subsonic\transcode with latest one (1.2.1) ?

Thanks,

Ralph

Sure, will do. Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it's too late to get it in the 4.0 version, but I'll add it to 4.1.

By the way, starting with 4.0, the default decoder for FLAC (and all other formats) is ffmpeg. Could you check if it works with your FLAC files?

See http://subsonic.org/pages/transcoding.jsp for suggested transcoder configuration.

Thanks!

So far no joy. Is there any way to restore all transcode fields to default ?

Joy (I had a small error in the command), it's rather chatty in the logfile though.

etc etc

Now only to find the switchoption for silent operation (-loglevel quiet dowsn't work). What's the reason for using ffmpeg besides being a more multipurpose recoder??

Can I put in another request:

please update the prepackaged lame to version 3.98.4 where the VBR-new switch is default.

http://www.rarewares.org/files/mp3/lame3.98.4-float.zip

Because of my limeted bandwidth, concurrent users and mobile use my default transcoding parameter is:
lame -S -V4 -q2 --lowpass 19.7 -b96 -B192 %s -

Thanks.
