Help please --Getting music on a nas to show up in Subsonic-

Postby wewood » Thu Apr 29, 2010 7:07 pm

I have all my music on a Ready NAS NV+

I have the server software installed on a 64 bit windows 7 machine.

I have a network letter mapped to the NAS, i can navigate to my music either with the Z:\Music or via the web, using IP address.

Neither of these have worked to allow subsonic to see the music I have stored there.

What am I missing.

Thanks!

It works

I got mine set up quickly with little fuss on Windows XP, files on an Airlink NAS with the share name "NetDrive".

Subsonic set up the port forwarding after I changed the port from the default.

The mapped drive didn't work, but as soon as I got the network path correct, I was connected. Mine looked like this:

//Netdrive/Storage/C/Music

with "Netdrive" being the share name of the NAS (found it in the NAS config)

Granted, it's not the same setup but, judging from many of the posts here, getting the network path correct is the key.

Then I used a DynDNS URL directed to the correct port: http://xxxx.homeip.net:8080

Works great. My wife's Eris is throwing some network errors, but I have just started working on it.

that didn't work for me. I've got a synology ds110j NAS with the NAS name being NAS.

So the networkpad for me is \\NAS\music with ofc. music being the music folder. When i put \\NAS\music as a path in subsonic it won't work. Just as \\ipadress did not work.
