Songs not buffering correctly?

Postby Zephyer » Wed Jun 16, 2010 2:22 pm

Hi all,

I've got subsonic installed on my w2k3 server (which had Simplify media before ;) ).
Simplify Media never had problems for me with buffering and playing songs what so ever.

So, now with my problem with isub... :D
I've got an iPhone 3GS connected on 3G without any problems.
But, when i try to play some songs, I see my buffer jump up and down like mad (lets say 50 per time) and eventually ending up @ 0 which make the song stop and start buffering.

It than start to run up to 50 or so, and drop towards 0 again and makes the song stop again.
My upload is 1Mbps on which I can stream Orb without any problems, so it shouldn't be my connection.

Version iSub and Subsonic are up 2 date.

P.s. when connected on my home WiFi, there's no problem...

I have a similar issue trying to play tracks on my Droid using the Android app. Music starts playing, but about 3 or so times will 'skip'. eg at 0:15 the track jumps back or forward 1 or two seconds. Doesnt start over, just a discontinuity in the playing. Still debugging to narrow it down. Player/3G/WiFi/cache song/.../...

Im having a some of the same issues as well. It will start playing and the "hickup/studder" a few time and then play the song from the beginning. My other issue is the song will start to play and then start from the beginning again saying the play failed to do something. I dont remember the error message off the top of my head but it gets really annoying to be honest. My 3G single is fairly good and im driving down I75 with very good coverage so I dont know what the issue is.

Unsure if it is linked or just wishful thinking, but upgraded to latest 1.3.2 Android app and my initial testing has shown no stuttering/buffering issues. Possible? All defaults, ie 500MB cache. I'll post again my results.
