Can you give me some more info?
    -What codec is the video encoded in? (it's an avi correct?)
    -Does it play the audio for the video with just a black screen? (this happened to me while originally testing it)
    -Does the position/duration show the correct time of the video file?
    -Does the video start to buffer at all? (or even look like it it was trying to buffer)
    -The player 'bologna' has a check mark for the avi>flv transcoder in the Subsonic admin settings? I'm pretty sure I asked this before, but this was a huge oversight by me when I was originally testing it.

I'm not really sure what else to ask, I don't have linux installed at the moment. One last question, this might be stupid, but is FFMPEG installed? From what I gather it needs to be installed separate of subsonic.

That's a php error related to mysql not being compiled or added into whatever version of php you are running.

[2010-07-18 18:05:39,967] INFO PlaylistInputStream - admin listening to "xxx.avi"
[2010-07-18 18:05:42,001] INFO PlaylistInputStream - admin listening to "xxx.avi"

jwplayer:

I'm running freenas 7.2 mysql and php are working fine can create the tables but can't connect to subsonic.

Getting this.
Connected to MySQL Server, users table exists.
Connection to Subsonic server failed. Local server ip/port:http://192.168.3.100:80/
MySQL server(local address):localhost
Subsonic server/port:http://192.168.3.100:8080/

It seems to be fine until it trys to connect to subsonic.

Any ideas?

What version of subsonic are you using?

The failed message only shows up if

Code: Select all
http://192.168.3.100:8080/rest/ping.view?u=username&p=password&v=1.2.0&c=bologna

Doesn't produce a success message, Fill in the username and password with your login info for subsonic and go there in your browser, let me know what it gives you

Using subsonic 3.9 as anything newer doesn't function properly on my freenas box.

This is what I get.
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

<subsonic-response xlmns="http://subsonic.org/restapi" status="failed" version="1.1.1">
<error code="30" message="Incompatible Subsonic REST protocol version. Server must upgrade."/>
</subsonic-response>

Ok, I thought that was why, what you can do is change your settings.php file to reflect v=1.1.1 after running setup part 1, or edit setup.php , look for this line
Code: Select all
$data = "define('CREDS','u=$s_user&p=$s_pass&v=1.2.0&c=bologna');\n";

and change it to
Code: Select all
$data = "define('CREDS','u=$s_user&p=$s_pass&v=1.1.1&c=bologna');\n";

Cool thankyou.

Seems to be working.

So should I try and update to a newer version of Subsonic to get all the features functioning?

Thanx again sweet mod you have here.

Chat and deleting a playlist is the only thing you'd be missing as of now, up to you

I use 443 https for freenas gui, webserver on port 80, subsonic on 8080 it all works fine plus I'm running a nuke evolution test site and a vcd db movie database test site. All works fine. php and mysql on freenas is the worst install I've had to do to date but once it works its great.

Goto http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-my ... on-freenas and follow it to the letter. Then in my case I had to give more permissions to /mnt/dynamic/db/mysql then rehash. also the new phpmyadmin doesn't work with the new freenas find an older ver like 3.3.3 or older.
