And a couple more things I forgot ;)

- Lyric display in the player
- Change servers without restarting the app
- Letter index on the Album and Song tabs
- Loading the Album tab perma-caches all top level folders
- Loading the Song tab perma-caches all folders for super fast browsing
- All artwork (both table cells and player) is perma-cached

DANG!! It's like a whole new app.

What does perma-cache mean?

Also, how does the song buffering/cache work? Does it work like Zsubsonic, in that it starts caching the next song when the current song is completely cached? (2 buffers to prevent delay between tracks - not just on wifi)

Thanks
BP

Also, I've looked back through the forum, but can't find an answer. Was the issue with the same artist name from different directories only showing albums from the first referenced directory in all instances of that artist name within iSub fixed?

I know, a bit long-winded...hope the question makes sense.

Thanks

For anyone else that comes along wondering the same thing, yes it starts caching the next song as soon as it finishing the current one on 3G and Wifi. You can only manually cache songs on Wifi though. You can put as many songs as you want in the cache queue while on 3G, but they won't start downloading until you're on Wifi (app store restriction).

And when I say perma-cache I mean it caches between app uses rather than just while the app is running. So basically everything that gets cached -- artwork, folders, tabs, everything -- is persistent between uses.

And yep this bug has been fixed ;)

Also added support for Subsonic shortcuts for anyone that uses that feature.

after the update i have been having some major problems with isub when i first updated it i could not even open it it kept saying that it could not connect then it would drop out of the prgram. so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it now opens but after setting the server info and going to reload the artist info and i then i get the following error

there was an error parsing the XML response maybe you forgot the right port for your server

but i can log in just fine from a web browser and the old isub was working

any ideas?

OK, loving iSub 2.2 so far. One issue so far (fyi, I did reboot my iphone 4)
- Bookmarks crash for me. I can create bookmarks all day but when I click more and pick a bookmark it crashes back out to springboard.

I had someone email me earlier with the same issue. He made me a test account and I was able to load the Artists tab fine. He rebooted his phone and it worked fine after that. I still don't know why it happened, but if you try rebooting and/or reinstalling that should fix the problem. I'm trying to track that one down to the root cause so I can fix it altogether, the problem is that it doesn't happen for me or any of my beta testers.

Congrats you found the second bug so far in 2.2 ;)

Don't know how that slipped through the cracks. I changed so much code in so little time, something must have changed and I didn't update the bookmark code.

Someone else found a bug where if you enter a wrong username or password, when it pops up to tell you that and you hit the settings button in the alert, it crashes.

I'm fixing that right now and I'll fix the bookmark bug too and submit a 2.2.1 bug fix update tonight.

To make a bookmark, play a song and when you're in the player view (hit the music note) tap the album art to slide in the controls and there's a new bookmark icon that looks like a book with a bookmark in it. Just tap that and it will create a bookmark at the current playtime.

Looks like I need to fix the bookmark code though before you can actually use them :P

Fixed both bugs, submitting 2.2.1 to the App Store right now :)

I had the same issue for a while. It seemed to happen almost every time I started iSub. I would then edit server details, put a "/" at the end of my url like host.domain.com:4040/ which I thought helped because it would usually work the second time loading the app, but it could have been coincidence. Soon after getting the app and subsonic going and loving it, I donated and got my host.subsonic.org going and I haven't experienced the xml parsing error since, but there might have been a restart in there that fixed it too. I just wanted to add my personal observations just in case it gives you a lead to what might be causing this. Great app! Love the new version!
