Server has forgotten about my donation

I made a donation of €20 but the web interface still tells me that I need to donate.

I've found that whenever I reboot the host machine, the subsonic server does not remember any of my music folders or other settings. I can just about live with having to reset this every time I reboot but because the server has also forgotten about my donation I can no longer access subsonic over the internet using the easy-to-remember address. Status says "Trial period expired. Please donate to activate web address." Also the Android app no longer works.

It'll be a total waste of money if I can't fix this... is there a refund procedure?

When you say other settings, what are the other settings you're referring to. Have you looked in the subsonic.log file to see if there are any error messages? That information is all stored in your subsonic.properties file, could be that you are missing write permissions to it, so when you enter in the information it gets cached for the time being, but is never written to the properties file so it cannot propagate through your restart.

What OS are your running, are you running the standalone or do you have it deployed as the war file on tomcat or something like that?

The other settings are minor things like the maximum bandwidth alloweable by certain players (specifically my android one).

There aren't any error messages in the log file that I can see but a write permission problem to the properties file you mentioned seems like a very plausible idea.

I'm running Subsonic on Windows XP SP2 but I'm connecting to a NAS where my music files are stored. Therefore I followed the instructions in this forum to run the service as a separate user account.

Any ideas what I should change in those User Account settings to ensure write permissions for the subsonic user?

I still can't find a way to change write permissions for a User Account on windows XP but more importantly my €20 donation has still been forgotten by the system (web app and android app) and I can't listen to any music.

Okay found that simply clicking on 'Donate' and re-entering the key works fine - but it's just not being saved. Can anyone please help me sort out my permissions problems?

I have the same problem. I have formatted my harddisc and after reinstalling subsonic and entering the password I got after donating, it stills says that I need to donate.
Even if I wanted to donate again I can't, because the donate button is gone after I entered my email adress and the password.

Can the norwegian developer please tell a dane what to do?
