Autobookmarking audio books?

Postby BestMuted » Thu Sep 23, 2010 3:29 pm

I'd love to be able to able to use Subsonic for audio books, but I don't want to have to constantly fast forward and look for my place. Also, when I chose to listen to something else, and then come back to a book, i'd like it to resume from the old place. Can Subsonic do that?

I don't believe it currently has this functionality built-in. Though some external players such as iSub (iPhone) and SubAir (desktop) can seek more easily than the flash player, in my opinion.

You could use an external player, and just pause it when you're finished, then resume later. But if you closed the player then you'd be back to square one.

This sounds like more of a feature request than a help question, but maybe somebody else can think of something better.

Cheers,
Kirk

I should've I was mainly looking for something in iSub.

It's not that big of a deal though, since I only listen to audio books once. I was just wondering.

The way this was implemented in rockbox (back when I used my iRiver) was that they created a small bookmark file in a folder when you stopped the music. This was very convenient.

I don't think Subsonic was exactly created with Audio Books in mind, though I admit I can see why it would be convenient to use for that.
