FINALLY! A Sort by Genre/Artists/Album AND Great LOOK

Postby fukid » Mon Sep 20, 2010 12:33 pm

I made this alternative client for subsonic based on super sonic.I improved some of the feature and speed. It allows very fast adding , sorting and searching for a thousand songs.

Your client looks awesome! I would love to run it. Are you going to make it available? If so, I am running Subsonic on an Ubuntu Meerkat box, and would be willing to help test under Linux...

it is a subsonic client written by php, should be universal as long as php and mysql is installed.

Currently it is tested well under firefox 3.6.10. The flash audio player need some update before it can run in google chrome.

This is awesome, I would be glad to test/use/contribute to it as well if you're looking for help! Really great work on the UI, hope you release it soon :D

this looks great!

I'd like to test it out on linux/ubuntu too. It looks very good and clean, and i'm particulary curious about speed since i like to run the web interface on a netbook and that slows it down very much.

I hope you'll have it ready to release soon :)

EDIT: If this is in fact a rip-off/largely unoriginal fork/design makeover of a almost finished beta, it would be more than common sense from the OP to include attribution and a link to the original project.
Dont make yourself look like a liar by neglecting this, attribution is the other important aspect after getting code for naught!

Cool man, a heads up would've been nice, or at least some kind of mention other than 'I improved xxx' before you ripped my entire backend and from the looks of it, most of the ui.
I've got a massive update coming to the setup script and to parts of the main script you can look forward to snagging. Just because it's open source doesn't mean you have exclude attribution.

Best wishes in all your future endeavors

Hello, everyone.

I am a friend of Brett's and I have made this forum account with the intent set the record straight with regards to this client fukid has announced.

Brett has been working intently and diligently on the features and UI of this Subsonic client for several months now, and I helped him with it in the very early stages, before it was even able to actually play any tracks.

The Subsonic community needs to know where to direct the lion's share of their approval if they use and enjoy this client. I don't specifically know what fukid did on his own, but nearly everything you see was a result of Brett's work and effort.

Brett is a perfectionist so he has been reluctant to publish his brilliant client, but he now feels confident to make his work public. It is still in development, so please send your feedback and suggestions to its original mastermind. Brett will work hard to improve the client and make it serve your digital music needs.

Thanks.

hi,
Brett's work is great and my project was fork from it. I am also going to release it as soon as the bugs are fixed. :)
