4.1.beta1 is out. APE and MPC Trancoding still faulty

Postby hopo » Tue Aug 24, 2010 2:44 pm

New version is out but with same problems Transcoding does not work! Songs plays about one second.

It hasn't been working since 4.0.beta1.

Windows 7 64bit / Firefox 3.6.8

With Linux (Mint 9) transcoding is broken too. Plays only one second.

Can someone play APE or MPC files with this beta version?

I would like to know what is wrong in transcoding pack with all these new versions?

Have you guys tried the ugly fix I suggested in this thread? (Transcoding then streaming of MPC or APE files not working in firefox).

http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2939&start=12

Sorry I don't have time to test the new beta at the moment.

Yes i did try ugly fix but that's not very good solution either.

Hope this bug can be fixed. Really frustrating to use Subsonic.

From http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=121199 i found this.

Works on Ubuntu 10.10 64 powerpc

In terminal run:
$ sudo updatedb
$ locate libmp3lame.so

should reveal:
$ /usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0

Stop Subsonic:

$ sudo service subsonic stop

then in terminal run:
$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0 /usr/lib/libmp3lame.so

then start Subsonic:
$ sudo service subsonic start

It should now work as a charm.
