Unable to access file referenced in playlist

Postby oneiris » Fri Oct 01, 2010 3:06 pm

Hi,

I'm having problems loading files with spaces in from playlists. I've created a test playlist with the following entry:

Code: Select all
"/sound/music/Consensus - Eiskalt.mp3"

And I get the following error in the subsonic log:

Code: Select all
java.lang.SecurityException: Access denied to file "/sound/music/Consensus - Eiskalt.mp3"

If I try to escape the spaces with \ I get the same problem. Is there any way to escape spaces in filenames within playlists that Subsonic will accept?

Sounds more like a permissions issue with the file in question, rather than something to do with the whitespace in the filename.

I thought so too, but if I copy that file with the permissions in tact to /sound/music/test.mp3, it works fine from the playlist, so it looks like it's just an issue with whitespace.

So nobody else has had issues with filenames containing spaces in a playlist?

Spaces? No. I haven't had any issues like this before.

Have you tried chmodding the file 777? Maybe not a good idea to leave it that way, but it should completely rule out permissions if it still doesn't play back.

Cheers,

I can't see how it's a permissions issue. If I copy the file to /sound/music/test.mp3 and leave the permissions the same as the original, it plays from the playlist.
