Hey TechAficionado did you have to do anything to get your lockscreen controls? I've got a non-rooted HTC EVO 4g running stock SenseUI and I don't have any lockscreen controls. Would be very sweet to have though!

My rooted HTC hero is running stock 2.2 No sense ui on top. Not sure how to get that working with sense.

Not sure if something changed with the latest version, but I notice quite alot of skipping when its downloading a bunch of songs while playing at the same time. (Not the same track)

I never noticed this before in earlier versions. Atleast not as much as now.

Is it possible to change the priority of the player part of Subsonic? I think you use the built in player so it might be hard, but it should be possible I hope?

Using a HTC Desire with 2.2 and 10Mbit mobile connection.

Hello,

New to the forum, but thought I would post my experience.

I am also using 1.7.1, and I am having an issue where typically the first song on the playlist repeats...

Tried to search the forum and internet, didn't see an answer, so I am wondering if it is a bug with the new version?

It seems like my headset controls are getting hijacked by the subsonic android app, meaning that they ONLY work for start/stop playback in subsonic.

Unfortunately, this means that the controls no longer work for picking up/hanging up a phone call, or starting/pausing playback in my podcast app, even if it's running in the foreground.

Is there a way for the headset button logic to release control when the phone rings, or to release control if another headset-aware app is in the foreground. Otherwise, a settings "use headset buttons" option would be awesome :)

I'm running 2.1 on a Samsung Galaxy S.

subsonic hijacking headset button

Postby t33p33 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 12:14 am

I am having the same issue as adolgov, same phone same os.
Subsonic is becoming the default response to the headset button.
An option to "use headset" or not might do the trick as adolgov suggested.
Thanks

I'm seeing the same issue as MonitorMonkey where the first item in a playlist repeats itself. (I notice this most when doing shuffle play, it repeats the first item on the random playlist it creates) Sometimes when I skip ahead to the next song to stop the repeating it'll repeat that next song too, other times not, seems to be intermittent. Once it stops repeating though, it runs cleanly unless I skip ahead again at some point which may or may not cause another bout of repeating.

Hello.

I am using android subsonic 1.7.1 and having the following issues:

- cache limits do not seem to be working, I limit to 200 meg but there is 900+ in the subsonic cache folder on the sd card. I ran out of space completely once and I had to force close to get it to connect again.

- I occasionally get stuttering audio as has been reported elsewhere

- I notice that a song will repeat itself when started while its still downloading, and will continue to repeat until it starts with a complete song. I would normally expect that it should pause and buffer then continue instead of restarting every time.

info: htc evo 4g, android 2.2, rooted using fresh rom 3.3.0.1

Thank you for your efforts, I hope to donate in the near future.

Some people have reported the Android app causing a large server load, and I may have figured out why. (I had originally posted this in "Feature requests" thinking that was closer to bug reports)

I've found that if you try to load files where there is a ":" (colon) character somewhere in the path, the app never downloads anything, but goes into a loop starting many connections to the server. This is the cause of the load.

This seems to only be an issue in the Android app, as the same files play with the same transcoders fine through the jukebox and web players. I am guessing it has to do with what characters are allowed in a file saved on the Android phone, maybe a limitation of the FAT filesystem on the flash card.

A couple questions about Android version 1.7.2. I use subsonic a lot, especially when taking the underground subway somewhere (read: no cell signal, no wifi), so was wondering about the following:

1. Why does "offline" server require a net connection? I have some songs "saved" on the phone, I can see the list of songs I have saved, I queue them, but playing them doesn't work, they get stuck at Downloading 0 bytes.

2. When a server is selected, and there is no connection, I can't see a song list of songs I have cached or saved (fair enough, but maybe a timeout?).

2a. When a server is selected, with saved songs queued, when I have no net connection, I still can't play the song from my queue, a connection is required, even though the song is saved. Stuck at Downloading 0 bytes.

Once subsonic stalls at one of the above, there is no way for me listen to music until I get a connection again, thus making my long train trip sans music.

3. I still love subsonic, thanks so much for the server and the Android verison.

Looks like 1.7.3 is out and offline mode works. I tested by putting my phone in airplane mode and the server on offline.

The first item in a playlist repeat bug still appears in the new 1.7.3 release.

I just tried it and it doesn't work for me. Couldn't get any combination of server-mode/offline-mode/airplane-mode/saved-song/cached-song to play music, except *once* I got a cached song to play in server-mode with airplane-mode turned on, but couldn't replicate the result. They got stuck at Downloading - 0B.

For now, subsonic requires a net connection for me, regardless of cached or saved music. This is with 1.7.3 on a Nexus One (stock 2.2.1).

Tapping on the notification brings the player as usual. When I select the "Current Playback" tab, the window appears as if nothing is selected for playing (just like I just started the app).

I had the same behavior with 1.6.

I do not think it's my bluetooth headset playing trick because there are no buttons that can perform such a trick on my headset.

I am running android 2.2 on my non-rooted N1.

I am having the same exact problem on my Moto Droid running Froyo. I have noticed, it just stops playback, even tho the song is still in the notification bar. But if I hit play on the supposed currently playing song, it starts from the beginning and starts playing. I thought I was just at the end of my playlist, but that isn't the case.

So, if there are more having this same issue, please sound off with phone model.

Thanks

Same thing frequently happens to me. Droid 1 running CyanogenMod 6.0 stable. I find it happens more frequently when I'm doing something else (email, gtalk, google voice, whatever), but sometimes happens when I'm just listening to music exclusively.

I think Subsonic is being killed by the system to free up memory or something. If you notice when you go back into Subsonic, it seems to be starting up fresh even if there is an icon in the notification list. I frequently play the same playlist shuffled. When this happens, the playlist returns to its unshuffled state like it was reloaded.
