View Text Files in Music Folders?

Postby mattigans » Fri Oct 08, 2010 2:49 pm

This thing is GREAT!!!! Works perfectly on my HTPC via web and Android. Donation certainly forthcoming!

I have LOTS of legit live recordings (e.g. from the Live Music Archive over at archive.org) and most of these are not tagged with song titles. Usually the titles are comprised of the performer, performance date, and sequence, such as gd1977-05-08d1t06.mp3.

However, in each of these folders is a text file with concert information, set lists, etc.

In XBMC on my HTPC I can view these text files making it very easy to find particular recordings/tracks.

Is there any way in Subsconic to view and/or "play" these text files?

Thanks for any ideas that might be out there.... :)

Addendum- I added ".txt" to the list of music file types, and I do indeed see the text files in the album lists... Sweet!

It even looks like I can download them... step in the right direction, but a little cumbersome when you just want a quick look at a setlist and then move on.

So perhaps my question becomes a feature request? I hope I'm not the only one out here that would find this useful!

I too have a lot of folders that have .txt files describing the music in the folder. It would be great to be able to access these maybe as permanent comments or something.

Often these .txt files have info about the show, how it was recorded, and even the names of the songs.

It would be great to access these files while looking through folders.
