ConnectTimeoutException

Postby Ph03Nix » Thu Oct 21, 2010 1:56 am

Hello, i'm having problem with my connection. I donate and receive a code, follow the instructions, but i'm receving this message: Status: xxxxxx.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException). I'm using a router (D-Link 524) and i already configure portforward in the router, but still don't work. I use portforward for other programs and that's ok.... Any ideas?

Thankz.

Grab the port number you've 'opened' and try www.canyouseeme.org
Does it show the port as open?

Postby csharma.uc » Sun Oct 24, 2010 7:01 pm

i'm receving the same message: Status: xxxxxx.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)

i tried the website www.canyouseeme.org

Error: I could not see your service on xxx.xxx.xxx.x98 on port (4000)
Reason: Connection timed out

I've opened the port 4000 by going into Netgear router settings page. So whats wrong up here?

Try rebooting the router..sometimes a pinhole won't 'stick' until a reboot.

There are a couple things you can try to pipoint where the problem is.

Identify your IP address assigned to your router from your ISP. Once you know the external IP address, try connecting to your server at http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port number to try and access the server.

If that works, try servername.subsonic.org:port number.

Make sure the port # is the same throughout the connection chain.

Haqve you tried a Java uninstall/reinstall?

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

If you're using Windows 64 bit, be sure to install both 32 & 64 bit versions.

csharma.uc you will need to start the subsonic services with administrator privilidges in order to get rid of your error message "Error: Failed to write to C:\Program Files (x86)\subsonic\subsonic-service.exe.vmoptions. subsonic-service.exe.vmoptions (Access is Denied)"
