1: An ability to see and control what is currently downloading

2: Wifi only mode

3: When downloading an album, if you navigate away from that album and back again it will stop showing the progress on the current downloading song.
It will still mark them as downloaded as they complete, but it would be great if the progress would still update.
If this is not understandable, I'll explain better.

4: When downloading it will say how much you've downloaded, but can this be changed from "1MB" to "1 / 10 MB?"
That way it would be easy to see progress per song.
A progressbar or percentage would also be nice.

5: Ability to download complete albums.

6: Make use of the menu button

7: Rename albums

8: Show how much free space I have on my SD card

9: Video/photo streaming?

10: Control music playback from lockscreen (Previous song, Pause, Next song)

These are all the things I feel are missing
Keep up the good work!

More Queue Adding Options

Postby lailoken » Thu Oct 21, 2010 7:08 pm

A Long press on a song gives the option to add to queue, but I would like the same option for long pressing on an album name (only 'play album' is available here).

I just want it to be easier to actually listen to music without interrupting current songs.

Another nice feature would also be just to start playing your entire library on shuffle/random somehow.

Most times I don't have much time to pick and select songs and make playlists etc. Mostly my songs are already all my favorites, so I don't really care.

The Home screen has a "Shuffle play" option that does exactly this.

I also cast my vote for lock screen music control. I believe Pandora and the built in music app does it pretty well.

I would like the option to save album art on the SDCard with cached music for use in offline mode.

I've been using the android app for a couple of weeks and I've seen that in offline mode I have problems in playing songs that are stored on a subfolder in the tree directory. I have distributed my song by genus. So in every genus I've got the artists and then the albums and the songs. In Subsonic I've just added the directory Music of my PC.

The problem is that I see the songs stored in all subdirectories but there isn't the green or orange symbol meaning that are stored on the phone.

In online mode I haven't any problem for playing those songs.

Thank you very much!

Hy! I actually posted a patch that makes this in here:

I've tried that app, and felt in love with it :)

The only thing I missed on the first day to be able to long-press on the albums and select them to be downloaded...

So I made it, and would like to share that with you hoping it will be included :)

Here is the patch for the trunk version r1696:
http://www.eisenberger.hu/~u-foka/subsonic_android_download_album.patch

but it seems to be forgotten :(

ive read that another music player utilizes the built in mic on headphones, so you can tap on it to pause/play, and double tap to skip to next song.

this would be AWESOME if you could implement this into subsonic. it would probably need an adjustable tap sensitivity along with the enable/disable of the feature.

if i hold the volume up/down [while the screen is off/locked] it will skip the track. not sure if this is a function of subsonic or cyanogmen mod..

give it a shot

the pause button on my headphones does pause subsonic, but thats the only function it does. (and the only button i have available) ive read that with other players you can double click the pause button on the headphones to skip to the next song. i would very much like this as a new feature.

Having the 4x1 widget in the new version 1.8 release is wonderful. Any chances of getting a 2x2 widget with album art too?

Possibility to specify music storage path

Postby dvogonen » Mon Nov 01, 2010 8:54 am

Thank you for a great app and even greater server. I am a SW developer myself and I do not understand how you manage to pull off developing and maintaining such a an array of components by yourself. Kudos!

I have a small feature request that I have not seen anywhere else. I apologize if I have not searched thoroughly enough or have missed a way of doing what I am requesting as a feature.

The issue is that on the specific device I am using (a Samsung Galaxy S) the external SD card is mounted in a subfolder to /mnt/sdcard. The reson for this is that the phone comes with 8 GB of internal storage. Around 6 out of these 8 GB is provided as a virtual SD-card and premounted as /mnt/sdcard.
Your Subsonic client stores music on the virtual card, which works fine in principle, but so does every other application. This makes space rather cramped for media, which is unfortunate when I have got a perfectly fine 32 GB external card installed in addition to the internal memory.

In short: I would really appreciate a way of specifying that the subsonic music end up on my external card, that is mounted as /mnt/sdcard/external_sd.

Thanks for a GREAT application. I installed it yesterday an my Android Nexus One and I really appreciate to be able to access the 60GB music database that is on my PC. Superb !

I have many rather large playlists that I converted from Windows Media Player but they are quite useless because there is no shuffle/random play with playlists. I always listen to the same tunes when streaming a playlist. Shuffle play for playlists would be a most welcomed improvement.

As one user has also written, an equalizer would also be appreciated but not priority.

Thanks again for your work. Much appreciated.

Actually only repeat is the missing point :) You can found shuffle, if you use the menu button on the playlist screen...
