Wap streaming to Blackberry Bold 9000 troubleshooting

Hoping for some insights. Streaming was working flawlessly to my Bold until I upgraded to OS5. Now it seems to work about 60% of the time.

IT will occasionally waffle between the wap client and the normal web client while browsing for songs (cache cleared to no avail).

However, the main problem is streaming failure. I have trans-coding enabled and have throttled the stream bandwidth to 64k and this has in the past yielded AWESOME results from my headless ubuntu server to my mobile phone in the car. It now works about 60% of the time.

What I suspect is.... I have noticed that after 3 or 4 days listening in my car, the system will have 10 or 12 new players named after the account I created for my blackberry and I feel it is the player settings that are guilty. Is there any way to force an account to use only one "player" instance? In this way I could troubleshoot these settings.

Additional info. Forcing the player to an "external player with playlist" instance seems to fix it. Can you force an account to use this setting?
