Restarted and no change. I tried to change the port forwarding to 80 in my router but it says it's already being used.

I'll get back to you. But I have to go to work. In the meantime I would suggest installing the server and when you do right click the install file and choose run as administrator

OK, have a good day at the office. What do you mean installing the server?

The tables are your office then! Careful what you ask for...you may not want one once you get it.

I tried that before actually and same result. I'll search around and see if I can find anything similar. Check back when you get a minute tomorrow...

Thanks again man!!! We will get it...gotta be close.

Just basically like I said before, uninstall, then when you reinstall right click on install file and choose run as administrator. Then, once installed, right click on the program and choose run as administrator again, then you should be able to change the port.

Man I am so thankful for all your efforts. I know I can be sort of thick about this stuff sometimes and you were very patient. Thank you.

An easier question...how would l get the best sound quality? My files are all FLAC so from what I gather, they are changed to MP3 along the way to my phone. I see the setting for bitrate and I have it on unlimited. I think I read that they default to 128kbs. Should I change the setting to 320kbs for the best sound quality? Hopefully it will support FLAC someday soon.

Almost. In your android app settings do you have richard.subsonic.org or http://174.101.62.XXX? I bet you have http://174.101.62.XXX because I can connect using http://174.101.62.XXX:85 but I can not connect using richard.subsonic.org:85. What's even weirder is that richard.subsonic.org sends me to your IP, but it doesn't work with the port for some reason.
If you enter richard.subsonic.org:85 into the settings in the android app (which you will have to do unless you want to be chaning these settings every few days to keep up with your changing internet IP) Then I would try changing the port number (forward and settings) to something a bit higher. Sometimes browsers react strangely to low port numbers.

Yes, using the ip, not the .subsonic. Sometimes it connects sometims it does not on the server. I have both checked in the network settings, correct? The top shows forwarding port 85 and the bottom will not connect.

It depends on how quickly you want your music to stream to you. If you are streaming over wifi all the time then it should be able to stream just fine. If you are streaming over 3g, then you probably want the settings at about 128 and definitely no higher than 192. Unless you don't mind waiting for songs to load, which you definitely will at 320.
To check/change these settings right click subsonic icon in system tray-->open subsonic in browser-->settings-->players-->select player (choose the one that says android. If there is more than one you can find out which one you want by selecting each one and then looking at the date/time under last seen)-->make sure FLAC-->mp3 is checked and set the max bitrate that you want. Most people can not hear the difference between 128 and a CD. Very few people can here the difference between 192 and a CD.

What do you mean by "on the server?" on the richard.subsonic.org?
If this is the case then you will probably want to set up a different DynDNS server. My guess is that the subsonic one is not the best. Look around in your router settings to see if it has DynDNS settings. Not all routers do. Also, you can try changing your port to a higher number (such as mine on 8889) as I said before.

What do you mean by you have both checked in the network settings? Which network settings? and what is checked?

The top of what and the bottom of what?

This was a confusing post :?
