Recognize music in main directory?

I have the majority of my music in the main music folder, with a couple of other folders in there as well. Right now it will only show those subfolders and the songs in them, not the majority of my music in the main folder. Any way around this besides spending my entire weekend reorganizing my music library?

Why not just create a sub folder, say "Misc" and xfer all the music to that folder. Not elegant, but it might enable you to get to it.

It's already synchronized between several devices, I just don't understand why this problem even exists.
