android 1.7.4 client - can't download and upgrade to 1.8.1

Postby simpdawg » Thu Nov 04, 2010 9:03 pm

i'm currently running the 1.7.4 client on my incredible running froyo. not rooted.

the android market sees there is an updated client but just continuously says it is downloading...when it gets to 100% it doesn't install, just hangs. if i try to cancel the download, it makes the android market force close.

You could try uninstalling the current version.

I would suggest clearing the market cache and data then trying again settings->applications->all->market clear data and then clear cache. Youll be prompted to accept the market terms again, and it will take a bit for it to resynch with your installed applications but that has fixed most of the issues Ive had with the market.

Also are you running a stock droid device, or are you rooted running a custom rom? If so what rom and what version of Android are you running?
