Im using ubuntu server 10.10 with the latest subsonic beta ...
The only solution that came into my mind right now will be to rename the folder, removing the umlauts and other sick chars!

I'm afraid not. I've been in contact with Discogs asking for a quota-free API key in return for marketing their service, but they couldn't offer that.

Okay. Can you Do something about the playlist feature? I would like to have something more personal for the users so other users can't delete or add songs to another users playlists. A registration link to new users wouls be an awesome feature so we don't have to create accounts for everyone. Thanks!

No improvement on android client skipping

Postby masco » Mon Nov 15, 2010 1:06 pm

Hi All,

I didn't notice an improvement on skipping when using the android client. Perhaps my issue isn't the same as others are having? My library is all FLAC encoded and I band-limit to 160k on my android phone for streaming.

The skipping only seems to occur during the first song, presumably since the rest of the album is caching way ahead.

Fins this in my log " WARN LyricsService - Failed to get lyrics for song 'Hey+Joe'.
java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"

"WARN CoverArtController - Failed to create thumbnail for d:\2\1\Beck\The Information\cover.jpg
java.lang.Exception: Unable to decode image."

haven't seen this before in earlier versions

1. Based on your input, I've tuned the search algorithm so that it returns more results.

2. Sorry, the cover art batch update feature is not possible to implement with Google Image Search. Also, I couldn't continue using Discogs, as we were reaching their quota limits.

Thanks,
Sindre

No Worries, manually coverarting takes a bit longer but I tag it all to begin with, just the occasional album I miss and then I use your tagging. All is running great here, and on my android phone

That's too bad, this is the main reason i'm sticking with 4.1 instead of the new beta.
Could there be a possibility for users wich have their own API key, to keep using the discogs cover download?

The cover search is much nicer, I could never get the work around to work with Discogs, so as a fix just to load cover art and select a particular image is great. I do wih the bulk search was there but I guess its worth the trade off.
However, when I click the Google search link on a particular album it just directs me to Google's music landing page. I don't know if that was the intended use, but the generated url clearly has title and artist in it. Something to look into I guess.

thanks

Discogs has a per user limit of 5000 right? So entering ones login details for discogs in subsonic would solve the problem?

JSON in API

Postby Emergence » Sun Nov 21, 2010 7:59 pm

Is there only certain rest calls that currently use json for return data, I keep requesting it but it seems to always send me back xml

Add me to the list of people missing the "Locate albums with missing cover art" option.

The improved cover art search is great, and one of the reasons I updated to 4.2, but it's rather ironic that it it actually makes things more difficult.

To fill in my missing cover art I now have to do a manual search for each one.

I don't see any problem with having to get my own Discogs API key.
