Subsonic isn't my default player, but I do <3 it and won't uninstall it, I'm on the brink however. The bluetooth controls. I have only ONE music app I want accessing my bluetooth headset controls. Please make that a user option. I can't find out how to turn it off in subsonic, so if I pause my poweramp, subsonic starts playing, which drives me bonkers. If I FFWD a song in poweramp on my headset, subsonic kicks in, starts playing it's own song along with poweramp, and my ears asplode =D It's great to have bluetooth controls, but it should be added into the user option to fix.

I was wondering about media buttons on headphones. I know it was designed to work for apple products, but is there any development on these buttons for android? Maybe it's a rom thing..

There are three buttons (-) O (+). The middle O works fine for pausing and unpausing. But the outer too are completely unresponsive.

Maybe a feature, maybe just waiting for 2.3 gingerbread? *shrug*

I Think it would be great if one could change the cache directory in Subsonic for Android, for example on my Samsung Galaxy S I could use /external_sd (the additional micro-sd-card i put in) instead of /sd_card (the standard internal ('external') flash).

I'd like to see a volume lock when the player is playing as on the HTC Desire HD phone the volume controls are far too easy to knock.

Also an Equaliser would be nice.

I would like to see a couple of features in the Android app that I find common in other players, especially like in Winamp (PC).

Well, first off, I think the playlist needs a couple of tweaks. Instead of shuffling the songs in the list, why not just randomly select a song on the list? That way the list could still be sorted. The reason I would like to see it is because it would be easier to see what songs are all on that playlist. Also, I would like to see a sort feature, like alphabetically by Artist/title/whatever.

Next, and I think this may have been mentioned somehow but I'm adding it anyway, it would be nice to see the songs sorted by tag info in the app. It would be a bit nicer than going by folder name.

And the last thing I could think of is a redundancy check option setting if possible, making sure the same track isn't added to the playlist. Just a thought.

right now my biggest need from the android app is for it to NOT rename all my album art from "folder.jpg" to "folder.jpeg"

This is a problem because individual "folder.jpeg" files create a HUGE mess in the Gallery.

To clarify:

Android Gallery does NOT show "folder.jpg" files.

Android Gallery DOES show "folder.jpeg" files.

One favourite feature of mine (that I've been used to with Rockbox) is being able to insert a new album / song to the playlist after current track. So, in addition to "Queue", there should be "Queue next".

+1 on allow browsing by Album / Artist / Genre and not only folder structure

In many cases, organizing by folder is fine. But it is rather limited.

It would actually be pretty cool to indicate what tags to include in the search index. For example, I could have it include the "Composer" tag so I could find all music composed by Bach (regardless of the performer or album).

As it is now, I've had to organize by sticking all Bach composed music in the same folder tree, so I lose that actual performer info.

Not a huge deal though. Easy to work around it by creating a playlist.

i just wanted to suggest to also parse the folder.jpg or AlbumArt.jpg in the Artist folder. I'd really appreciate to see the Artist-Pics in the Artists-list!

I'd love the ability to tailor the shuffle. Currently it seems to shuffle from the entire database. It would be nice to long-press on "Shuffle" on the main screen and be able to select the ability to shuffle based on Folder, genre, year, artists etc. Folder especially. I have audiobooks in a separate Folder on my Subsonic server and don't really want shuffled excerpt tracks from audiobooks, radio shows and educational audio stuffed into the playlist when I want to listen to music.

Ditto! I have a similar configuration. I have a music folders for my music, audiobooks, & my gf's music. I'd love to have the ability to specify which folder(s) to shuffle.

It would be great to have an option to keep the screen active during playback.

I usually use the "Keep activated" option under programs/development in the Android settings (I'm using Swedish but I think it should be called that) when I'm running Subsonic in the car connected to the car charger and the car stereo aux in.

But due to the very limited memory in my Desire I'm running a custom ROM (LeeDroid) to be able to increase the space for applications and since the 2.3b release of that ROM the screen have a tendency to turn itself on during charging (apparently due to some kernel fix) so when I charge the phone it lights up in the middle of the night and don't turn off when that setting enabled and it's a bit annoying to remember to turn it on/off depending on if I'm charging at home or in the car listening to Subsonic.

So a Subsonic option to keep the screen active during playback would be good (unless you manually turn of the screen with the power button if using it while running or something).
