Streaming a live video recording.

Postby Linuxxx » Sun Dec 05, 2010 3:15 pm

Hello, i've finally been able to get the video stream going. But i still have one problem i can't figure out, not even sure that it can be done.

My plan is to be able to watch my tv on a remote computer. So i start to record the video and save it to my hdd. It shows up fine in subsonic, and i'm able to start it. But if the recording is only 10 seconds old the stream dies after 10 seconds, and i'll have to start it again, then it will be streaming a while longer, then it dies again.

There is no problem streaming a file that is an old recording. The problem comes when the video file is growing.

I'm guessing subsonic "looks" at the file and thinks oh, it's 20 seconds long, lets stream that long.

So if anyone knows how to bypass this, or solve it in any way i would be thankfull.

I play my videos in an external player with playlist (VLC) on windows.
I'm not using this as a music server so if the music stream feature breaks it's no problem. 99% will be watching live streams so i hope it can be solved.

Thank you!
