Date Created Issue

Postby colli419 » Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:22 pm

Hi All:

I would like to be able to use the Newest function on the home screen, but I am having the following problem. When I look at this tab the same folders are always displayed even when I upload new media. The reason for this is that they are reported as being created in the year 2046. The strange thing is when I look at the files in explorer it gives the right date of creation (or at least in this decade). I know this is a strange, and potentially unique problem, but does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this? I have included a screenshot to show the behavior.

Thanks!

You'll be fine in 36 years, or you might try doing a manual search update.

Go to Settings/Search thern click on Update search index now.

Hope it helps.

What are the times in the rest of the app?
I knew subsonic was cool but I didn't think it could time warp? :)

Thanks for the replies, but I have already updated the search index multiple times and it stays the same. As for the times in the rest of the app, I am not exactly sure what you mean? Are you are referring to the album data shown when browsing? Unfortunately Subsonic doesn't allow you to modify the created date. And I am not sure how to do it in Linux, frankly because I didn't think that the file system stored that data. I am thinking it is a problem with the way that Subsonic is reading the data on the file, because it shows up correctly when I look at it in explorer (for instance). At this point I am at a loss, but would really like to use this functionality. Please help!

So I tried your idea stozher, and when it was gone it was removed from the Newest pane, however as soon as I put it back in the SS folder it came back just like before. Here is the log message:
Code: Select all
[12/8/10 3:16:19 AM CST]   DEBUG   SearchService   Logically undeleting info for album /var/subsonic/media/Music/Breakbot. Found on disk.

It's almost as if the index wasn't really updated, but rather bandaged when the file was removed, and subsequently unbandaged when I put it back.

Stop server. Remove /var/subsonic/subsonic12.index. Start server...
