We respect your viewpoint and your right to not donate. However your characterization of a donation to the dev as a "waste of money" because you are dissatisfied with a minor glitch in the Android app is a position that I will not allow to go unchallenged.
To mislead others into thinking that they should not enjoy the full benefits of SS, because it is your opinion that it is a wate of money, is just that, your opinion.
Everyone has 30 days to decide for themselves what the value of SS is to them. When you consider that the minimum suggested donation is about $14 US for what is truly a breakthrough application, I think it is reasonable to conclude that others may not share your assessment. My opinion is that there are always bugs that need to be fixed. Just look at the ritual of MS update Tue. I have full confidence that this will be solved eventually and if I were the dev I would ignore your petty complaints as well.
My son is a developer and is currently collaborating on a few projects with Sindre. He is also currently going through the code to trying find the fix for this problem instead of whinning and complaining about it. We are not employed by or in any way associated with Subsonic as anything other than users who communicate with the developer in a positive manner. Your apparent lack of understanding of the complexity of the program and the difficulty involved in pinpointing the source of this problem is the only logical explanation for your impatience.
Just because they haven't met your needs or expectations doesn't mean that the program doesn't represent a tremendous value for those of us who truly appreciate the hours of high quality commercial free music wherever we go that SS provides. Call us fanboys all you want, I'm sure most readers will recognize that your ad hominem attacks are merely a classic sign of a weak argument.
Let's recap:
I've spent few thousand on two high end servers, I have a Core i7950 desktop, I have a wired gigabit lan and wireless N available throughout the house. I have verizon FIOS 35/35 service that costs about $70 a month, 4 Sprint cell phones on a family unlimited data plan the costs about $170 a month, but in your opinion I'm a fanboy whose wasting his money supporting this application and its development by making a one time donation for less than the cost of a couple movie tickets or a few pay per view rentals, all because when I use the phone to stream the music the first track repeats before moving to the rest of the play list, even though all I have to do is tap the next track button to move along.
Go ahead, do without. It's your choice. Just don't expect everyone to agree with you.
