Hello Deriksen,

Thank you for sending me the theme.

Yesterday I "installed" it.

Nice, well done and working softly.

Congratulations.

deriksen, looks good! I like it. Just my personal taste, but I would probably make the headphones larger and more transparent.

BTW, I saw Travis here in Salt Lake City, and wow, great show. They're awesome showmen.

These new themes look nice. Are either of them available for download and use?

To the best of my knowledge both will be added to future releases. Check http://subsonic.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/subsonic/trunk/subsonic-main/TODO.TXT.

Awesome. I'm excited to see how 3.7 goes. Specially some of the optimizations for larger collections. His todo list looks scary, but man there are some killer things on it!

An adaptation of my old theme, made for my personal homepage. Can't get much simpler than this. ;)

Making simple adaptations like this is really quite easy (if you're not too fussy about keeping all the code stripped down to it's bare minimum) so I encourage everyone with an inkling to give it a try. And if there are some design savvys out there, Subsonic needs some new fresh looking themes! :D

theming

Postby johnfoliot » Sat Dec 04, 2010 6:39 pm

I too hacked away at a new theme... it really isn't that hard to modify the basic look (new colors, new icons, etc.) as it is mostly just CSS and a few graphic files.

It would be *really* cool if there was an ability to upload a new/custom theme/skin to your local instance of subsonic. subsonic can already unzip upload files to your local storage, so the unzip function exists. a brief tutorial on creating a theme zip (pathing) would get the files in the correct location, and then the theme page would just need to be able to update/refresh and query if there are any other 'themes' available... I know there are probably other requirements too, but for me, all I had to do was create my theme, go to the proper directories, rename one theme (by adding _old to the end of the name) and then named my new theme with that theme's name and boom it was golden.

All told, it took me about 3 hours to do: http://johnfoliot.subsonic.org - note this is a Seasonal Theme and will be in place from December 2010 to January 2011 (if you catch this thread after then, sorry...)

It looks to me as donpearson changed his domain or let his old domain expire. It used to be http://www.midnightfun.co.uk
