File Transfers

Postby colli419 » Tue Nov 30, 2010 2:56 am

Hi All:

Quick question, does anybody know what the transfer protocol for Subsonic is i.e. when you choose to download an album, what is used?

Thanks

um, tcp :D

Let me answer your next question - on whatever port you've got configured in the subsonic control panel via Windows or your setting file on Linux.

Not exactly what I meant. I understand that Subsonic uses TCP, but what I was curious about was how the packets that are being downloaded appear to the world. Is it like FTP, or something else?

I am assuming that means that it is an unencrypted transfer? I would be so happy if someone could give me a definitive answer regarding the protocol.

Thanks!

I believe SS supports SSL if you really want to go that route. Seems a bit of work for my needs, but I think it was added in one of the earlier versions.
