Error: didn't understand the reply. please check the server

Hello All.

I setup Subsonic on my windows home server about a month ago. everything has been working fine. the webpage the android app everything.

my android then started stating that I needed to donate and register to continue use. I figured I like it and use it alot and there was an update notification on the website, so last night I donated then downloaded and installed the new version 4.2 registered it, and changed the port to 8080 "the same it was before" I logged into the website from my home pc and all was well.
I just now tried the android app and it is giving me the above did not understand the reply error. I did some searching and someone had suggested that they fixed it by opening UDP port 8080 as well tcp 8080 fixed their problem. I looked on my smoothwall and sure enough udp wasn't forwarded. I opened it up and am still getting the same error.

I am not using the subsonic address I am using http://Blah.homserver.com:8080/music
as well from out side the website as well as subair work just fine.

I am using a smoothwall for my firewall, a windows home server as my subsonic host and a htc incredible 2.2 (no custom rom etc.) as my handset.
I have seen several posts on this issue however none of them led to a solution.

any suggestions.

Drop the /music part of the address. Just use http://server.homeserver.com:8080
