Is there a new beta with a fix for the aforementioned "multiple of 2" problem?

No, and there probably won't be another beta either. Guess I'll release the final version in not so many days.

A work-around is to upgrade your ffmpeg version if you can.

I'm also having the audio sync issues. It happens if the movie has to pause and buffer. Once it resumes the video and audio are way out of sync.

This is on the jwplayer on Android.

I can't get a single one of my mkv to even stream to the pc much less my phone. I don't transcode any of my movie files for streaming so that is probably what is wrong or I have all my info files in the folders and possibly that is causing havok??????

Hi,

I've also seen some audio sync problems (when using the combo box with all the time offsets), but I solved it by changing the transcoding configuration to:
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -ss %o -i %s -async 1 -b %bk -s %wx%h -ar 44100 -ac 2 -v 0 -f flv -

Could you please change your config accordingly and see if that solves it for you too? Please let me know if it works.

Thanks!

Sindre,

Just to report on v4.3 Beta 1. Everything seems to work pretty well o far except I'm having trouble with mp4 files with 6-channel audio (see my post here).

Trying to stream to my Moto Droid 1 works, but even at 200kb my phone still buffers every few seconds on a 3G network. I don't mind that I can't stream to my phone, but it would be cool. The 4G network finally went live in San Francisco...so my next phone shouldn't have a bandwidth problem.

I also changed the transcoding for mp4 > flv to your suggestion above.

One suggestion:

Is there a plan to add a setting for a default max bit-rate for the user like with music?

Great Work!!!

This seems to have fixed audio sync issues when jumping around in videos.

Edit: I wonder if it would be possible to make the video "pop out", so that it's resizeable, without making it full screen.

Thanks for reporting back. Yes, a resizable popout is a good idea, I'll look into that for the next release.

I am loving this project! Fits my needs brilliantly!
A quick question, on android, files stored in the root of a shared folder are not shown, is there any way to display these?

I've looked through the whole thread and haven't seen anyone having the problem I am so maybe someone can tell me what my problem is.

The problem right now is that the video starts but it dies after about a minute and a half. There could be several problems as you will see.

1. about 8 months ago I went through the tutorial to see if I could get streaming video. I installed ffdshow and went through the transcoding page to try to get it to work. Never could get jwplayer to work correctly though. Because of this now, in my transcoding section I'm not sure If I have everything setup correctly.

2. As of right now I have not tried it out on a LAN setup. I'm currently trying to stream it over WAN. My upload at my server's location is about 500kbps and download at my current location should not be a problem. Though, as I'm not sure I thought I'd post this bit of info

3. The server that subsonic is on is Windows Server 2008 with an amd 2gh duel core w/ 2gig ram. I'm not sure if like a previous poster was talking about the transcoding is causing a bottleneck issue ( as assumably would be on a phone ) though I am trying to stream on computers I don't see if this would be a problem. A fix for this maybe setting up an external player? --dunno.

I have the latest version of ffdshow on the server installed and on the computer (htpc) I'm trying to stream from installed.

Not sure where my problem lies. Hopping someone could help me out.

Look around for my posts on this topic as I have written many long epistles on the subject already.

My initial impression is that your upload speed is pretty low. BUt there are many factors involved. Just search through my posts.
