Is the way that ID3 tags are being created for the player option "External player" different than they way they are created for players that are "External player with playlist"?

When I set my player (using Winamp, BTW) to be "External player" the tags display correctly.

When I use "External player with playlist" the playlist loads correctly with track info but the currently playing track info is replaced with the stream information as shown in the image below

Hello!

Same here!

I'm using:

- Winamp lite 5.601
- Subsonic 4.2 b 1946 (on windows server)
- flac>mp3: "flac -c -s -d %s" then "lame -b 320 - -"

I'd love to see this bug squished... tell me If you need more info/me to experiment something!

Regard

GrenDup check with one step transcoding. You need to install FFmpeg to SS "transcode" directory before:

Step 1: ffmpeg -i %s -f mp3 -ar 44100 -ab 320k -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

... step 2 is a blank.

This works! Thank you very much sir, you made my day!

I'm finally able to enjoy my "flacs"... too bad it is not possible to stream them directly.

New problem: The seek bar.

original config:

- winamp: not working
- webplayer: working

New config (ffmpeg):

- winamp: not working
- webplayer: working erratically... freeze

is it possible to do something?

Thank you!

Please upgrade some components:

Winamp Media Player: http://www.winamp.com/
Adobe Flash Player: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
FFmpeg Codec: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ffmpeg (direct link: http://www.videohelp.com/download/ffmpeg-r25512.7z)

* Unzip FFmpeg with a 7-Zip archiver (http://www.7-zip.org/)

NEW: Check seek bar with other player - VLC media player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Hello,

sorry for the late answer...

all my components are already up to date.

Seek bar doesn't work with VLC either.

Hello again!

I migrated my server to Ubuntu 10.10 server x64
ffmpeg version 0.6-4:0.6-2ubuntu6
subsonic 4.3 (build 2078)

I have the same problem as before with the two-steps transcoding in winamp...

When I try with the one step however, I have a new error... It says "error syncing to stream" (I have a screenshot if ever...)

any suggestions? Something to try?

regards!

Thanks! Changing the downsample command to this allowed me to see the ID3 tags in winamp again, even when using "External player with playlist".

Hello,

I upgraded to Subsonic 4.6.beta2 and it fixed my problem! Now I see the titles and I'm able to use the search bar in winamp!

I tried to use this transcode: Step 1: ffmpeg -i %s -f mp3 -ar 44100 -ab 320k -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

It created an another problem... it divides the playtime in half! :-( strange no?

I then went to settings/players and set the max bitrate of my ext player to: 320k (was set as No Limit before)

Bingo... i'm now able to have 320k, names and search bar!

but I find this strange and not user friendly... well, at least it works.
