Updated software and now subsonic no longer works

Hi there,

Just updated to 4.3 and suddenly subsonic doesn't work.

Initially it seemed to login, but never complete loading the web interface.

Now, I seem unable to start the service.

PS also tried uninstall and reinstall, and seems service is marked for deletion, so unable to start. Will try again on reboot.

Any ideas..??

Sounds like the upgrade reset your Subsonic port, something that used to happen before the latest 4.4beta1.

Reboot, and then check your port settings and make sure they are what you expect them to be. If not, change them, and stop and restart the service.

If that doesn't work, I'd redo the upgrade, double check the ports, and test again.

If that doesn't work, then a complete uninstall/reinstall may be necessary.

You're right Glenn, 4.3 and earlier versions reset the Subsonic port to port 80 by default. Version 4.4 beta1 corrects the problem by retaining the port number of the previous version during the upgrade.

To fix it, Open the Subsonic Control Panel. In a windows install, right click on the Subsonic tray icon, select Open Control Panel, click on the Settings tab, then just enter the correct port number, save the settings and just for good measure, stop and restart the SS server.

That should do it.
