I had done that originally and tried it again but that did not solve the issue. I am going to check my java version as well to rule that out. Any other suggestions?

I didn't suggest that prviously (just brain dead I guess), but I would uninstall everything, Java and Subsonic. Reinstall latest Java first, then latest Subsonic. If that doesn't fix it, review http://monroeworld.com/android/subsonic/ for any missed setup steps. Then test a video that you know will play in SS if you have one. If you don't have any video that has worked, send me a pm and I'll email you a short clip that I know plays in SS. Also review your directory entries carefully for any typos.

So I upgraded Java, but haven't done a full uninstall/reinstall of Java and Subsonic yet. The upgrade to Java did not solve the problem.

However, I made an interesting discovery. It definitely looks like a transcoding issue, as .FLV files play just fine, and anything else that is being converted reports the error message. The transcoding rules are the defaults, however, so I don't know what's going on here.

Try this:

ffmpeg -v 0 -ss %o -async 1 -i %s -f flv -b %bk -r 30 -s %wx%h -acodec copy -

I have done all of that.. all of my music is on the same server.. I have no problems playing any of my mp3 files... i have given subsonic full logon rights as administrator.. all of the videos show online and on my android phone with no problem.. they just won't play. I have also tried transcoding and NOT transcoding the files... they won't play either way. all my movies are in WMV format.. they play fine even remotely thru windows media player, when i log on to my server directly.. but using subsonic, they won't play...

Can you cut and paste the transcode for wmv > flv directly from your settings and verify that the Default and Enabled boxes to the right are both checked. Also verify that there isn't more than one wmv > flv definititon on the table.

C:\subsonic\transcode\ffmpeg: unrecognized option 'ync'

The line above is from your SS log. I've never seen any ync option for transcoding settings prior to this entry.

Just curious as to why you would rip movies to wmv rather than mp4?

rip as wmv not mpg4.. because I use an xbox360 in each kids room to stream the movies that I have put on the server.... didn't think xbox360 running windows media center would stream mp4

As posted above.

Starting transcoder: [c:\subsonic\transcode\ffmpeg] [-v] [0] [-ss] [0] [-async] [30] [-i] [F:\Videos\Test Videos\Oops.wmv] [-f] [flv] [-b] [1000k] [-r] [30] [-s] [292x240] [-acodec] [copy] [-]

Compare this from my log with what I found from yours. It's worth a try.

I don't have an Xbox but I would think it could play an mp4, but I'm not an expert on Xbox. I was just curious because mp4's can play in JW Player without transcoding, which takes the load off the cpu on the server.
