Linking to SSonic site without login

Postby jjs111 » Wed Feb 02, 2011 5:12 pm

Hi,

I love this, and thanks for all the work you do. Question: Can I put a link to my purchased Subsonic site on my personal website so that people can go straight to the web interface (e.g. as a "guest" user) without having to login? In short, I'd love to be able to turn off the login. Any ideas on this?

Thanks.

Sure... create a guest account, and then format the link like this:

http://YourServer.subsonic.org/login.view?user=<GuestUsername>&password=<GuestPassword>

Alright, I've been playing around with this some more, and so there's a part 2 to the question: Can I link directly to a song from outside without having to log in.

Thanks a lot, again.

Log-in as 'guest'. Play with "External player with playlist"... Save ".m3u" file. Open with plain text editor and copy link.

<domain_name>/stream?player=xx&pathUtf8Hex=2f7372762f7375627xx...&suffix=.xxx

Thanks. I've gotten all the way up to pasting what's needed into the browser window (Chrome). The black player on the gray background comes up, but then it just sits there at 00:00 and the Play and Volume buttons are dead. Any ideas?

Cookies, Player XX not exist in SS, browser not support online play of this file... I use Firefox with VLC plug-in for playing. All work fine with m4a files.
