Is my server working?

Postby ffsanchez » Sun Jan 20, 2008 8:06 pm

Hi,

First of all, great job!! Subsonic is amazing!!
Now, could you check http://lotas.redirectme.net/subsonic (user:tester, pass:tester) in order to test my server, please?
Maybe my server is only working locally.
In status window I can read "server adress: http://localhost/subsonic" and I think it should be "http://lotas.redirectme.net/subsonic" or am I wrong.

If must be http://lotas.redirectme.net/subsonic, how can I change it?

Thanks and best regards

I was not able to connect to your subsonic with the link provided. I also tried it using the 8080 port without any success.

If you use a separate router. Have you made sure that you have set your router to map the correct port back to the machine where you run subsonic on?

Thanks.

I haven't got a router. I just opened my firewall for subsonic executable.
I've changed port to 1551 and it still works for me on http://lotas.redirectme.net:1551/subsonic url.
But in status on subsonic icon on task bar still says "server address http://localhost:1551/subsonic.
How can change this to say http://lotas.redirectme.net:1551/subsonic?

I got a connection to your subsonic now. I do see:

http://lotas.redirectme.net:1551/subsonic/index.view

In my browsers URL box. So I guess you have found a setting that work.

I see that you so far have one album on your server.

Note that some ISP's do block certain bad ports to receive traffic from the web. Port 80 is one of them I believe. So it could be that your ISP is blocking that port.

Hello, I am having the same difficulties which you had. Can you look at my post here: http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1085

I would be curious to know more specifics as to how you were able to overcome your problem.

Thanks, Pablo

Hi Pablo,

I changed the port used by subsonic in tab settings. The problem was another server running in my machine in default subsonic port.
Besides, don't forget openning port in router or windows firewall.

Good luck and best regards.

Hola Pablo,
