Subsonic 4.4

Postby okeygrak » Thu Jan 20, 2011 2:56 pm

Can't seem to get this to work with the 4.4beta1. Anyone had success.

I'm not getting past the screen asking for my subsonic instance. Running on ubuntu.

I've not yet tested with 4.4, I'll give it a go tonight and see if I can fix up any issues.

I have tried Subtunes on the latest release (4.4B) but had no luck.
Will send address and userid to Matt for verification (if required)

Hi guys,

I've been unable to reproduce this 4.4beta1 (CasN, it all worked fine on your instance too). What browser(s) are you using? Do you both have subtunes 0.9.3? Can you try clearing your browser cache too?

I tested on Chrome/FF, in both browsers after logon I get the default lay-out. If i then add subtunes in the addressbar, I get the expected layout but need to logon again. Then all is ok.
So, yep, I can get it to work but hope there is asoltion such it works from scratch.

@stueyboy

I finally figured out the reason why all folders are being returned for you. I'll get it fixed for the next release.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem mentioned before with locating the subsonic path. My subsonic runs from servername:4040 but subtunes will not accept this as a path. My subsonic install physically resides in /var not /var/www. does that make a difference?

Running 4.3 and everything works perfectly with stock interface.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

@ijustwantyourhalf

What kind of install do you have? (war/standalone/windows install/debian install)

Sorry, should have included that. It is standalone on a Ubuntu 9.10 Server.

Thanks,
Don

Hey,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I've been pretty busy with other things. I've just taken a look at how the standalone instance works and it looks like it's similar to the installed versions and it's not an Apache fronted server so putting the subtunes code in /var/www won't work. Instead you'll need to put subtunes into the same directory as the exploded war file. I've updated the wiki page to be a bit clearer now:

http://code.google.com/p/subtunes/wiki/GettingStarted#Debian/Ubuntu_installer

Let me know if you've still any questions,
Matt

Integrated perfectly with Subsonic 4.4. Using the RHEL/CentOS RPM for Subsonic, with Subtunes 0.9.3.

Thanks for the great job on this UI!

I would like to make it default whenever I log into SubSonic.
I currently go to http://myserver.com to SubSonic, and I now have to http://myserver.com/subtunes, which is not much of a problem, but quite annoying to me aven after all... (Right, I'm of that kind of guy that like the cleanness of domain-only URL for webapps...)

Is there any way we can set subTunes as the default webapp for SubSonic ?

By the way, I'm sorry if the question feels stupid, but I'm totally ignorant in everything related to Jetty...

have subsonic 4.3 (build 2087) running, just installed subtunes 0.9.3.

I have a large library which I broke my folders up as letters of the alphabet.
a - music\a
b - music\b
and so on

this works well in subsonic. but in subtunes i see a-z nested under EACH folder (letter). vs subsonic only show A's under a.

subsonic:
A\A Perfect Circle
Z\Zero 7

subtunes:
A\A\A Perfect Cirlce
A\Z\Zero 7

how do I stop subtunes from doing this ?
