Can you play video natively on Android?

Postby WPWoodJr » Sun Feb 13, 2011 4:17 pm

Is there a way to play video natively on Android, not using a web site with JWPlayer? I would like it to work the way music does, where the file is cached on the phone and opens natively in the phone's player. If this is possible, what are the transcoding settings? Thanks!

While I dont know. The default options are:

ffmpeg -ss %o -i %s -async 1 -b %bk -s %wx%h -ar 44100 -ac 2 -v 0 -f flv -

I have no idea what that means but it would seem that if you had rockplayer installed which I 'think' does MKV files, it should stream it over.

Did you have any luck changing the format?
