Playback Syncing?

Postby sekhu » Fri Mar 04, 2011 10:51 pm

Is it possible to do this? What I mean is - 2 people can log in to Subsonic, and then when someone presses play, both people can view the same video file at the same time.

Now if the user streaming is a few seconds or minutes behind I wouldn't midn that, ideally though they woudl be syncing so that it is aseconds rather than minutes. I dont know if this is currently possible, and if so how to do it.

If not, any chance this could be a feature that could be implemented in some later future release?

thanks

It's not possible as of yet. But I too would like to have it as a playlist option.

I wouldn't expect it to differ that much if you both started at the exact time, so would it not simply be more convenient for one of you to pause at 00:04 in, and then the 2nd person count up after hitting play?

The first person would simply hit play when the 2nd hits 4 seconds.

I would like this feature a lot. It would be great to use subsonic as an ad-hoc whole house stereo system.

This seems like a reasonable way to get multiple computers to play the same music, but this will create lag in the playback. Have the developers thought of how to implement multiple users using the same player?
