This is a known bug which will be fixed in the next release (I'm gonna push a release tomorrow, unfortunately I don't have time today). For others interested this will include improved iPad support but there's still some limitations I'm trying to work around on the iPad and I may end having to drop it into a native app unless I can find a suitable workaround.

I need to have a play in subsonics code a bit more as this would require a change that Sindre needs to make in order to support this form of redirect. (PS: don't worry no question is stupid!)

HI all,

I've released a new version here: http://code.google.com/p/subtunes/downloads/detail?name=subtunes-0.9.4.zip

This release includes the following changes:

Desktop - Bug fix whereby multiple folders always showed all subfolders
Ipad - History support added (can use back button to navigate folder hierarchy)
Ipad - Playlist support (no playlist editting yet)
Ipad - UI updates (much closer colours to ipod on ipad)
Ipad - Now Playing panel shows current track

There's also been a few upgrades to different libraries it uses (soundmanager2 in particular). Known issues:

Desktop - Can not delete tracks from playlists
Desktop - IE still not supported
Desktop - grid rows sometimes hidden when switching between gridview and coverflow view
Ipad - Playback of a playlist/folder stops after the second track. This is due to some limitations in iOS which I'm trying to workaround (basically apple don't want webpages to autoplay songs and require user interaction - there are some workarounds for this but I've not been able to get them working reliably yet).
Ipad - Volume slider does not work - Again an iOS limitation in that all volume control has to be hardware controlled. There is no known workaround so I will likely remove this and something more useful to that space
Ipad - playback position slider not yet implemented
Ipad - search not yet implemented
Ipad - tabs on bottom bar don't do much - in particular Album is not yet implemented. I will likely changes these to be more meaningful and just give alternative views of the folders

There are probably other bugs too that I've forgotten but do let me know if you see something you think is bug.

Hi mattgoldspink

I have installed you updated 0.9.4 and now I am getting the following error when I click on Music.
"Error code :500
An error occured: An unexpected error occured SyntaxError: Unexpected token <"

But when I click on one of my playlistes it load the song after a period..
Please let me know if I can give you any more details.

Afraid not. Unfortunately I've just not had enough time in the last month plus the headache trying to get ipad continous play going has been holding me up. Once I have it working for ipad I'll start on the iphone version, but overcoming the continuous play is a blocker for both at the moment.

Really dont work to well for me at all, i love the idea of this but it runs so slow and i always get an error asking my if i have flash blocked..

What browser and OS are you using? I've found it unusably slow on Opera, ok-ish on Firefox and fine on Chrome and Safari.

One small request...

When you zip the release files, can you make them within a parent folder? This way when I wget and extract it on my RHEL/CentOS server, the file contents of the zip don't get mixed in with other files in my /tmp?

My OS is win 7, my browser's are IE8 and FF.

I have with this mode just what i was looking for what is missing in the original subsonic UI, to search the music from genre...there's many more people looking for this feature but no news till now.

I'm missing just one thing, since I have the library shared with my room-mates and many music are new to me. So when Im browsing the folders and I get lost where I was, I can't find my self again the way it used to be in the original subsonic UI to just press "now playing"

But for all the rest man....IT ROCKS

Drag and dropping the songs to a playlist....that's priceless

But I can not figure it out how to create a new playlist and how to rename it, if some one could tell me how would be nice...I have FF4, and chromium (the last one)

to those just like me running the server in a tomcat, just create a folder in the tomcat folder, for example, named as "music"

Code: Select all: cd /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/ sudo mkdir music

and copy the .zip file to this new folder

Code: Select all: cp -r /directory/from/the/extracted/zip/* /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/music

and to access your subTunes just go to the adress:

http://your.ip.adress:8080/music

it will ask for your login+passwd and will find the http://your.ip.adress:8080/subsonic installation automatically

i hope this can help others also

Was there ever a resolution to this issue? I'm having the same exact problem. I have Ubuntu 10.10 on the server, using Subsonic 4.4 and your Subtunes 0.9.4

@urmyokazu: I dont get it...
can you open the SubTunes and is the section music is not working...or when yo try to access the Subtunes in /music folder get you this error?
