Non-Techie, Here. Need Help In Setting Up Subsonic.

Postby Son of Spam » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:14 am

Hello.

I'm not at all technical, so please bear with me. I downloaded Subsonic to my Windows XP PC and to my Android Phone.

From here on in, the instructions are much too "I.T." for me, lol. Please explain step-by-step what I need to do.

Based on the website, I'm supposed to "point my browser" to http:\localhost. But this brings up a blank error page. Even the Android app is bereft of any real instructional information.

I really want to like SS, but please make it more user friendly for the non-technical folks.

Much appreciated!

Cheers,

Give this a read-thru:

Ask any questions if there's something you don't understand. :) Subsonic is worth whatever hassle it takes to get going! :D

Thank you so much for replying, alphawave! Appreciate the link.

However, I can't seem to get past the Subsonic login page. The link you suggested tells me to type "admin" in the username and password fields, but when I do, I keep getting a wrong username and password error message.

Help! lol.

BTW: I'm using Firefox 3.6.15 and I'm running an HP Mediacenter m7060N computer with Windows XP Service Pack 3. Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100216-1514: Service Pack 3) if that helps.

(Not sure if it does, but I'd thought I'd add it, just in case.)

Have you ever accessed SS's pages? Did you change the admin/admin login to something different? Have you tried stopping and restarting the service, and retrying?
