You have to give the Subsonic service a network log on that has permission to access the drive share. I dont't have XP handy, but in Win 7 you open the Admin tools, Services, dbl-click on Subsonic, select the Log On tab, then change from the Local System account and enter a user account that has access tho both the local host system and the network share.

Once you donate, you can use SS on as many devices as you like. No need for an additional donation unless you feel compelled to do so.
