Subsonic freqently goes offline

Postby Videokiddo » Tue Apr 05, 2011 12:50 am

I'm running subsonic on a windows xp system that i use as a media server.
Within the last couple of weeks subsonic has been randomly disconnecting.
I have to remotely log in to my server and stop the subsonic service and restart it again. the icon in the task bar turns green like it is running but still wont let me connect. i have to start and stop the service several times and even reboot my server before it will stay connected. But it only stays connected temporarily. It can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 week.
I have other programs that stay running that do not disconnect. This leads me to believe that it is not my system causing the issues or even the network but i dont know.

Any help would be great.

Right click on the tray icon, Open the SS Control panel, Stop the service, Click on the Settings tab, increase the Memory limit to 256, Save Settings, Click on the Statyus tab, Start the service.

I have never been able to use the subsonic control panel since I have had it installed. When I open it the box is all grey. I only see pieces of the image and settings. It's really strange. It's kinda like when your computer freezes and you try to drag a window and it leaves tracers. But it only does it with the subsonic control panel, not anything else on my system. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times and it still continues to do this.

Start with a fresh Java install to the latest version. If you have Java already, uninstall, then do a clean install of the latest version. If you use a 64 bit browser be sure to get both 32 & 64 bit Java.
http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml If you have SS installed, uninstall it and delete the Subsonic directory (Windows). Then do a clean install of SS.
