3rd party SSL cert tutorial?

So I'm looking for a full step-by-step on how to get a 3rd party SSL cert intalled into subsonic on Windows 7 x64. I've searched these forums for quite a while and haven't really found anything specific to my OS. I have a free web SSL cert from startssl.com and it's on my machine as "ssl.cer". I've installed it into the correct cert store, but I'm not sure how to tether my sonic website to the cert. I've installed SSL certs on Windows servers for OWA, but I'm spinning my wheels on how to do this in Windows 7 (without IIS).

I wouldn't think this would be so complicated to do on a PC, but maybe it is. Does anyone know how to do this, or at least know where the tutorial for doing it is located?

I am in the same boat. I recently discovered Subsonic and have set it up on my Windows computer and decided it would be a good idea to have things secure. I went ahead and purchased an SSL certificate but now what?

Do I have to have Tomcat or apache or IIS? My router talks about installing an SSL certificate. Do I have to do that? I see in the Subsonic control panel it has an option to use https is this related?

Sorry for being such a newbie. Thanks for any help or direction. I am trying to read up on all this and understand but the bottom line is I just want to share my music in a secure way.

I think a lot of people want this, there is no easy way short of opening up the .jar file and pulling out the cert, replacing it with yours, and then putting it all back together. I've not read of anyone getting the linux version working after the change. There has been some success doing this with windows.

The ability to change the SSL cert seems such a basic thing, all the developer would need to do is separate the cert file from the main .jar file and allow users to change it.

As a donating user I would have liked to have seen this implemented already.
