Subair Problems

Postby davidthomp84 » Thu Apr 14, 2011 1:20 pm

Subair states that I am online however I cannot see any of my files, or mp3's

I have tried to change the player settings thru the web interface, as well as making sure my firewall is not blocking Subair

I am using windows 7 X64 with the most updated adobe air and I just installed Subair yesterday because I thought it would be a nice change to the web interface.

Any helpful tips will be appreciated

Thanks

It's bad manners to not say how you fixed it. Someone might come here with the same problem.

Opps didnt even think to put that on here

When you use subair you have to use http://"IP address and port" not DNS name. Even if you donated and have a subsonic DNS you can't use that for subair. It must be the direct IP address and port.

When I did this is automatically worked.

Again sorry for not posting how I fixed it.

This seems to be a common problem with Subair. We could probably sticky get it into the Wiki or sticky the question but does anyone know the username of the Subair developer? I know they've been on this forum in the past and may be able to make a change that stops this from being a problem with a small fix.

http://[abc].subsonic.org should work in subAir, but when using this name, the port should be omitted as the redirect handles the port.

The whole server address thing needs to work a little better (auto detect whether or not user has added 'http://' to the address, etc). This will definitely be in the next release.

oh, you need http:// in front of the IP

Postby mvpittman » Sun May 08, 2011 11:43 am

wow, I'm *that guy* now. I didn't know subAir required "http://" in front of the IP address.

Although this post didn't specifically say that, it did lead me to that conclusion and fixed my problem. Thanks!

Still? I thought they fixed that like five versions ago... seriously it would be so simple to use a little regex and add it if it's not there... :|
