Can't Play Audio Files

Postby jeremy_loo » Tue Apr 19, 2011 12:39 pm

Hi,

I'm newbie to Subsonic and have to agree that this is a great program.

I having problem playing audio file.

I have no problem with Video.

I have tried using Firefox and IE. When I point to the "Play" button, the link states "Javascript:noop()" and in IE, when I click on the "Play", it states "error on page".

I have tried both local & remote (network & internet).

BTW, Subsonic is installed on my Ubuntu 10.10.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

What happens when you select an audio file. What type of audio files? After a failed attempt. go to the "About" link and copy the log output and post here.

Hi Gary,

I'm playing mp3 files and the log output as below.

[4/19/11 11:51:43 PM SGT] DEBUG InputStreamReaderThread (/var/subsonic/transcode/ffmpeg) av_interleaved_write_frame(): Operation not permitted

Thanks,

Jeremy

I'm a Windows guy, so I'm not the best one to help you, but I'd be sure to check that I had the latest Java installed properly and check to see if this may be a permissions related issue. I also would suggest trying Chrome as the browser for web access just to see if this is an IE issue.

Yeap...did try on Chrome...the same result.

I think it's the permission issue too. But do not know where to change the permission. This is my 1st time using Ubuntu/Linux OS.

If you pm Alphawave7 or 3R3 I'm sure they can help you. You might also try doing some forum searches as I'm sure this has been addressed before.

Hi,

I have "disabled" all transcodes and the result is the same.

I'm trying to see the link of the icon by pointing to it. And this is what I found...

1. When point to the "Play" icon => javascript:noop();
I noticed that " javascript:noop()" will appear if it is a directory. However, this is a mp3 file.

2. When point o the "Download" icon on the same song, I get a url link.

Not sure if it's Java issue...as I get on the browser "javascript:noop()". I have installed Java 6.

I have the same problem but only with one-specific album encoded in FLAC 6-channels
