Is there a way to show only albums missing cover art?

Postby mcnater » Tue Apr 12, 2011 6:08 pm

Hi all,

I'm a new Subsonic user and am loving it. I've got a bunch of albums that are missing cover art so I've been going through them manually, changing them one by one.

Is there a way I can see only albums with missing cover art? That way I could quickly work my way through them adding cover art as I see fit.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I was wondering about this one myself. Subsonic 4.1 and earlier had a "Cover Art" link at the top, when you went under Settings. One of the options under "Covet Art" was "search for all albums missing cover art."

When I upgraded from 4.1 to 4.4 (and resolved some upgrade issues that precluded my seeing 4.4 for a bit), the Cover Art link is gone. There is a new/improved section that uses Google Images to find cover art when you drill into a specific album and choose "Change" for the cover art, but it's just for that album.

As far as I can tell, unless someone knows otherwise, that "search for albums with missing cover art" was removed in 4.3 and 4.4. Not sure why, since it was pretty useful. If it's critical to you, you could always backrev to 4.1...

There are also many third party utilities that can do this. I used Media Monkey to update the library after updating to 4.4, then used the "Change" button in SS whenever I saw one that didn't have a cover. Got em done fairly quickly.

Thanks for the replies. I thought about Monkey but wasn't sure if there was functionality in Subsonic. I'll give that a go for now.
