Steps to replicate the error:

Go to http://mydomain.com:4040/subtunes
Log in to account
Get redirected to http://mydomain.com:4040
Go to http://mydomain.com:4040/subtunes again
Click on the 'Music' label which is highlighted blue in this screen shot.

The error message shows up right after that. If i create a playlist though, I'm able to listen to them with no problems.

@urmyokazu:

Hummm...Im not at home at the moment, to take a look at my configuration. But it looks like that you can access your music at your playlist (which is stored in a different directory as I regard). So it could be that you have permission to read only this folder in your server.
Tray to take a look at the folders permissions. (Most of it from the /subtunes folder)
If its not the point, I'll try to take a look at home

Hi

Excellent work, but I've been unable to play music from my ipad. On the server pc, subtunes works like a charm. Nice itunes-like web-ui playing well, but when accessing with my ipad safari browser, the server keeps showing me the previous ui version on url http://serverIP:4040

screenshot from subtunes working on server:
http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/6128/s ... server.jpg

Acessing http://serverIP:port/subtunes gives me a 404-not found error
going back to http://serverIP:4040 takes me again to the previous version. Rebooting the machine did not solve the issue.

Tried some other browsers, and I get the new itunes-like UI, but the library is empty. (ipad screenshot linked)

any suggestion?

Need help please

Postby matildaleon » Fri Apr 22, 2011 9:31 pm

Hello - I have done the same thing as "LiquidDiet" below and can't get SubTunes to work....I see that his question never really went anywhere....so I'm wondering if i can get some help to make SubTunes work for me. Any help will be appreciated!

I have the same C:\subsonic folder.
I have the same C:\subsonic\jetty\1913\webapp\subtunes folder.
I extracted the newest version of SubTunes into this folder. This one: http://code.google.com/p/subtunes/downl ... -0.9.4.zip

But whenever I try opening any of the windows I get the same HTTP ERROR: 404 NOT_FOUND RequestURI=/subtunes/ Powered by Jetty error.

I'm on windows XP using Opera and my reqular subsonic windows and SubAir apps and android clients work fine the old way...I just can't get SubTunes to open.

It's probably because I have 1 silly little thing wrong somehow, & I am NO MEANS a java / coder / computer expert of any sort....so can someone help?

Thanks!
Greg.

liquiddiet wrote:Is there instructions on how to install subtunes?

I have subsonic installed on C:\subsonic

and created a directory C:\\Subsonic\jetty\1913\webapp\subtunes

and extracted subtunes-0.9.3.zip into it.

If i open http://localhost/ subsonic opens

I have tried http://localhost/subtunes/

and receive:

Code: Select all
HTTP ERROR: 404

NOT_FOUND

RequestURI=/subtunes/

Powered by Jetty://

I even tired:
http://localhost:4040/subtunes/

even though subsonic is running on port 80.

ideas? advice?

I downloaded it and extracted it, double clicked the index.html on my Ubuntu 10.10 x32 Desktop edition over VNC and it basically killed the internet on my remote machine!!! Why, how? Edit: It killed my VNC server along with my Minecraft server. Machine is still online.

Is it possible to run this on an UNRAID setup? The instructions for standalone simply point me to the Mac/Linux/Windows instructions, but the file structure is not the same. I tried putting the subtunes folder in /var/subsonic/data/jetty/2169/webapp, but that didn't seem to work, and I don't see anywhere else that it should go.

Hi all,

Firstly apologies for the lack of responses over the last few months. I didn't get any emails about responses on the thread and I've also been pretty busy with other things. I'll try to respond to everyone's messages in one big go!

@Tanner Williamson
RE: zip folder: sure sounds like a reasonable request.

@donpearson
RE: not working well: It should work fine on FF, but it doesn't work on IE versions yet due to IE not having WebWorkers (a HTML5 feature I use to make grid loading faster)

@fejao
RE: playlist editing: Thanks for the feedback. To create a new playlist you should just hit the plus (+) button in the bottom left of the bottom bar. To rename a playlist click on it once so it's highlighted, then click on it's name again and it should go into edit mode. Type the new name and hit enter to save.

@urmyokazu
RE: Unexpected token <": I've not been able to reproduce this. If you're server is publicly accesible could you PM a link to it and I'll have a look to see if I can figure out what's going on.

@jomaweb
RE: ipad not working: Could you PM a link to your server and I'll see if I can reproduce on my ipad.

@matildaleon
RE: not working on XP: It sounds like what you've done it correct. If you could PM a link to your server I'll see if I can figure it out.

@guisekeeper
RE: Music folder not loading: Again it's probably quicker for me to see the error on your instance. If possible PM a link and I'll have a look for you.

@vahnx
RE: killing remote machine: Wow! I'm impressed a bit of Javascript and HTML can do that! Just so I'm clear you're accessing the page on a remote box which is running the browser? What browser did you use and how much memory does the remote machine have?

@PartyMummy
RE: unRAID setup: In theory it should. What do you see when you hit the page in the browser? It might also be worth checking the file permissions on the unzipped files to check they're readable by the server running on your box.

Once I find out what the causes of some of these issues then I'll get a new release out with the fixes and/or get an installation FAQ setup for common errors.

It seems that the download links are broken. I'm getting a server 500 error when trying to download this from google. Is there another place it can be downloaded?

They seem to be working fine for me:

[[http://code.google.com/p/subtunes/downloads/list]]

Can you try again? Perhaps using a different browser?

Thanks for getting back to me! I'll try to provide as much information as possible.

I am attempting to run Subtunes 0.9.4. I copied the folder to my server so that /subtunes-0.9.4 became /var/subsonic/data/jetty/2169/webapp/subtunes. When I try to access http://my.ip.address:22111/subtunes, I receive:

HTTP ERROR: 404
not found
RequestURI=/subtunes
Powered by jetty://

I access subsonic at http://my.ip.address:22111/subsonic, so the port is correct.

I also ran a chmod 777 on all of the files within the folder, with the same results. Any advice?

Gave Subtunes 0.9.4b a spin tonight on my WHS Subsonic server with a Windows 7 FF 3.6.17 client. I was having a few issues with the 500 error posted earlier, but deleting and re-adding the Music folder as guisekeeper pointed out seemed to work. I also had issues with any other view mode except tile covers. The list and coverflow never populated for any of my artists. I tried a search, and while it did return results, it was pretty slow, and later hung when searching over all folders. Lastly, I had a bit of an issue playing until I turned on HTML5 audio. Not sure what else to try to help the project, but I am experiencing quite a few bugs.

I will try tomorrow from another FF machine on Linux and see what I get.
