Thanks for putting in the effort!

I should be able to get that worked out before this weekend. I'll keep you updated.

Thanks again

This looks like a very interesting project bmj1086, very promising indeed.

I'll give this a try once there are a few more features to tempt me away from the current Subsonic website.

BTW have you thought about the possibility of better integrating Last.fm to add some new functionality.

I have some ideas posted on another thread: http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6318

Also have you thought about developing this as a Google Chrome extension with features that complement and enhance the functionality found in the current Subsonic web service?

This is pretty cool. Works fine for me on Mac OSX 10.6.7.

I did have to restart the app for it to connect to the server. I'm not experiencing any lag at all and haven't experienced any other problems in my 15 minutes of using it so far.

Connection failure

Postby MusicDude » Tue May 10, 2011 6:06 am

Hi,

This looks very promising.
But I get a connection failure whenever I try "Test Connection". And the "connect" button is always disabled.

I'm using a proxy server from the computer I'm trying to connect from.
I guess I need to add the proxy server information.

Do the application support proxy servers?
Take care now....bye bye then...!

Sorry everyone, I started a new job as a Programmer and I've been nailed down ever since. Hopefully I'll be able to pick this back up soon. Someone just messaged me on GIT asking about it so they may be doing some work on it. I'll keep you updated on this project. It's not abandoned, I promise.

I haven't really thought of it. Maybe some time down the road I'll get into it.

The application should work fine with proxy servers that I know of. Just put the information in that you would use in your web browser.

Well, so long as you're still gonna be working on this ( :D ), I found a bug that I don't see being mentioned... My music collection is split across a couple of different hard drives with FLAC on one, and my MP3's on another (along with other stuff). I have both shared as sources in Subsonic, FLAC first, then MP3.

When using SubsonicJ, when I have songs by the same artist in each music folder, it will list the artist twice but only show the FLAC albums in both folders, and not show any of the MP3 albums (which are different albums).

Running SubsonicJ on Windows 7 with Subsonic 4.4 running on WHS

First of all, used the client and it works pretty good. I like it. I do have a question though, I am by no means a programmer of java or any base level language so I don't know or understand the limitations to Java.

How hard is it the cache the music? The iSub app for iPhone works great, it plays the first song and if there is enough bandwidth, it will start caching the next song.

The reason I ask is my internet connection at work is horrendous at times and playback gets choppy. I have been unsuccessful at finding a good desktop app. The online streamer works but not a big fan of the interface.

This is looking pretty awesome.

Just one question however;
The media keys on my logitech G11 keyboard do not work with SubsonicJ however they work fine with the older jSub.
Am I being impatient and have they simply not been implemented properly yet in the alpha - or is this something that needs to be looked at?

I created a test playlist on the subsonic server. I can see it in my Android Subsonic app, but I can't see it in SubsonicJ. Where should I be looking? Thanks!
