Subsonic video demonstration.

Postby GJ51 » Wed May 04, 2011 12:57 am

I just upgrade my WHS with a bit more horsepower and did the test you can see in the posted video. What you'll see is a video shot with my EVO 4g of my primary workstation playing 3 different videos streaming from my WHS simultaneously, while at the same time the left hand monitor is playing Angels & Demons at Blue Ray quality. All are streaming from the same WHS simultaneously.

The WHS now has an MSI 890FXA-GD70 motherboard that has dual onboard NICS that are teamed to the same internal IP for extra throughput. It has an AMD Phenom II X4 910e Deneb 2.6GHz Socket AM3 65W Quad-Core Desktop Processor HD910EOCGMBOX and 4GB DDR3 ram. A Seagate Barracuda XT 7200rpm primary drive (split as 250GB C: and the rest to the WHS D: storage pool) and 4 Samsung F4 2 TB drives in the D: Storage Pool. All is housed in an Antec 300 case with room for 4 more drives. It all runs cool and quiet with all temps under 30C in speedfan with the Samsung drives at 21 - 22C.

You can view the demo at http://maplegrovepartners.subsonic.org using guest for username and password. Go to the Videos folder and select Subsonic demo.

The original .3gp video was transcoded with AVS Converter to 720p flv. Let me know how it plays for you over the net if you go for a test drive.

Gary,

I wanted to test the video capabilities of Subsonic & Android but can't find a video in 'Test Videos' that gives me permission. Can you help?

Thanks!

The site in the link below is accessible. There are a few sample videos in the "Videos" folder. Let me know if you have a problem.

I just finished converting the mobile phone versions. Try those if you're on 3g.

If you connect on descent wifi, all the videos should play well.

This video plays great from my PC in full screen and small screen.

I can pause it and clicking on play again plays fine without any problem

The pass forward works great as well

Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra

Wonder if we are going to get a beta streaming video like this?

Is there any application to test this in the Iphone you want to test it on the browser?

I couldn't play Subsonic multi Video demo

Great you are working on video streaming, excellent

Thanks
I love Subsonic

Sorry about the multi video demo. I was right in the middle of doing some video converting for the mobile video folder while you were on. It should be working now.

The video shows 3 SS videos playing and one blue ray in WMC all streaming from the same server at the same time. No skips or stutters or buffering!

@gary:

I can access your server, but when I log in as guest:guest and navigate to "home videos" > "test videos" theres only the entries for the videos without any play, add or other buttons. also the links at the to are gone "add all, play all etc".

So I cannot play the videos at all.

Sorry about that. Since the original post I've done some realignment of my sites and the access rights. The public site is now the one I have at the bottom of my signature. I've also edited the original post. Thanks for the heads up.
