I just wanted to emphasize how great this feature would be. In my opinion, it is far more important than any of this video stuff (you really need a BIG bandwith to stream videos over internet)!

This is the the biggest thing subsonic lacks.

It's on the list. The problem is that it's a huge list and everything on it is important to someone who thinks that their particular issue should be at the top of the list. Be patient, Sindre always listens to the users.

Right now I use 3 different servers to limit access.

Hi,
I am new to subsonic and I this is the first thing I thought of I'm missing. There are some videos which I'd like to remain private for my personal remote watching, and some I would like to share with others. Because there's no other way but having different servers could you say a little how do you deal with that?
I assume you set up three different servers one for each group of watchers/listeners, but assuming I am right:
Is it possible to set up couple servers on one machine?
How to deal with subsonic account in such situation? Have you managed to create three different subsonic accounts?

You've got the right idea. I have a WHS v1 that has been running for a long time. I use the SS on this box for internal family use only. I have another server that runs Server 08 R2. I use this SS primarily for testing and experimenting. I also let others connect when needed to test their phones or just to listen/watch to compare the performance with their setup. On the same box, I'm running WHS 2011 RC in a 2GB virtual machine that also has SS installed. This install is my primary public SS.

This would be a great feature. I am hoping that I would not need to install multiple servers to handle this. This hasn't stopped me from donating, but it would make subsonic even better.

Maybe by offering a donation, you may have a better chance of having your request fulfilled?

I agree, this would be an awesome feature to have. That way, I could set my daughter up for an account on my server without having to worry about her checking out albums with extreme lyrics and such.

Music content of my server is free but I like to add also licensed music...

I also wold like to add licensed music to my server so that I can personally listen to while letting my friends listen to the non-copyrighted music I have collected.
