Navigating through video

Postby painscough » Fri Jun 10, 2011 3:12 am

Hello,

This is an awesome product for starters! I was just wondering if there is a way to navigate/fast forward through video as you are watching it. I have looked around for a while and can't find an answer. When I am watching a video it simply will not let me drag the slider to fast forward it.

I am using 4.4 (build 2172), I believe this is the most up to date version. The server I am on is jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_24. I run Windows 7 Ultimate on my my computer that Subsonic is installed on.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That ability is more a function of the file than it is a property of Subsonic. There are some postings in theses forums that discuss the issue and there is also a reference somewhere to a utility that enables seeking in certain versions of mp4 files that put the indexing at the end of the file.

I've had pretty goo luck with most of my files being able to utilize the seek bar once the file has co,pletely downloaded. i also belive that much depends on the source file and any software used in reformatting the video, not to mention transcoding settings.
