How incredibly offensive.
If you are tired of repeating yourself for "the 200th time" then here are some simple suggestions...
1) Stop replying and let someone else do it.
2) Post a direct link to your "FAQ" in your signature and simply reply with "Answer in Sig"
3) Or just reply with a linked "go here" message.
I totally feel your pain. I get really irritated when people come to a forum and rather than take 10 seconds to search for a solution to their problem, they simply post the same question many have already posted before them.
The day I completely changed my tune and stopped getting mouthy with "newbs" was the day I showed my dear old grandmother the wonders of the "Interweb" and realized that there are plenty of young kids and little old ladies out there trying to make sense of this vast virtual realm we take for granted. Had someone replied to my granny's question with a diatribe rant like I see above, I'd have completely gone off on them...
So anyway, since showing my grandmother around the web, I have never lost my temper, except maybe when I see replies to innocent requests for help like this one.
I'm not trying to be a troll, or launch a personal attack. I see by many of your posts that you are genuinely helpful to a lot of people. I'm just offering another perspective. And, for the record, I searched for your name and after 30 minutes of scrolling and browsing, still did not find any direct answer that you implied above would be simple to find by searching for your posts. With over 1,300 posts by you, the "needle in a haystack" idea comes to mind.
On the other hand, thank you very much for the time you have taken many, many times here to help people.
EDIT: Note that this is my very first post here. I felt that strongly I had to reply to this as my very first post...
